“Operation Smile Ireland launched its first ‘World Smile Day‘ national collections campaign on September 17th in Dublin. We had many supporters on hand including rugby star, Ian Madigan, CLAPAI representative Sean Haughey, and Professor Triona Sweeney and Anne McGillivary who many of you will know from the Cleft team at Temple Street (both volunteers of Operation Smile).

Family Day, Lilliput, 21 June – Photos!

Having Fun!

A wonderful Family Activity Day was had at the Lilliput Adventure Centre on the shores of Lough Ennell, viagra buy Co. Westmeath, online on Saturday 21 June. The sun was out and what a time we had! From mucking about in the bog to orienteering through the beautiful surrounds, view from kayaking on the beautiful lake to running madly down a hill screaming your lungs out, what better way to have some fun! See you all again next year!

Moving on from Cleft team in Temple Street

Professor Tri­ona Sweeney began her career in the Children’s University Hospital (CUH), Temple Street, Dublin, over 35 years ago and throughout that time has made a major contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the area of cleft-related speech problems. She is an internationally recognised author of many academic papers, and most recently contributed a book chapter to ‘Cleft Palate Speech’ along with other prominent figures in the field of cleft. Disney’s The Lone Ranger – Shame on You

The Cleft Lip and Palate Association of Ireland (CLAPAI) would advise parents to be prepared for the forthcoming release of the Disney movie “The Lone Ranger”, due out on the 9th August, certificate 12a.

Disney describes the villain of the movie (Cavendish) as “a ruthless outlaw whose terribly scarred face is a perfect reflection of the bottomless pit that passes for his soul”.
