Smile, it’s Autumn!

It is that wonderful time of year again when the world appreciates smiles, and smiles of all types. It is also the time of year when charities around the world that help people with facial differences come together to both campaign for the people they represent and also to fundraise.

We’d love you to send us in your photos and also to help us fundraise this year. We are partnering with Operation Smile, a charity that supports operations for children with clefts across the developing world.

We are encouraging local communities to help us out this October by having tea mornings, bakes sales at work or school, book clubs and any other idea you can think off to raise money for us and Operation Smile.

If you want to get in touch, or if you are interested in helping us out please contact clapai.info@gmail.com.

Disaster Strikes… We Now Need Your Help!

Disaster struck the Association today when the the storage unit in Ballymount where we have all our maternity packs, leaflets, bottles and family day stuff was destroyed by fire… the cost and time it will take to replace our stock  is frightening.

We have to quickly raise funds to reprint and replace the lot so we can keep maternity hospitals stocked and parents supplied… please, please contribute if you can and help us replenish our stock.

To help, visit our  Donate page and contribute if you can, what you can. No sum is too small. And Thank You.

[Update, 1st May] Read about the Association’s loss in thejournal.ie.

Fundraising Event, Limerick City, 5th May 2013

Re. Marathon, marathon-relay, half marathon and 6 mile run on 5th May 2013 in and around Limerick city.

If participants could fundraise on behalf of the Cleft Lip and Palate Association of Ireland your efforts can go a long way towards assisting
(1) the funding, purchase, installation and fit out of the children’s and adolescents’ waiting room in the National Maxillofacial Centre in St James’s Hospital in Dublin, and
(2) the provision of maternity packs and emergency bottle supplies.

We would be most grateful for your efforts towards raising funds for these worthy causes!

You can email me, Anne Gilsenan (Treasurer), at clapai.treasurer@gmail.com, and  I will get back in touch with you to organise t-shirts and sponsorship cards etc.
