Following our successful event last year, ‘Dental Care All the Way’, this year we are concentrating on Speech and Hearing. We will be looking at each area separately and where they overlap. We are delighted to have three excellent speakers for the event.

- Rob Wormald, Senior Ear Nose and Throat Registrar, Children’s University Hospital, Temple Street.

The information evening is aimed at parents, but will also be of interest to adults born with cleft or medical personnel working in this area. Carers or close relations are also welcome. While admission is free, we would appreciate an email, text or call in advance, so that we have an idea of likely numbers attending.

November AGM & Information Evening / Afternoon
Posted on August 13th, 2008
We are planning an AGM combined with Information talks for November this year - the AGM is usually held in a Dublin city centre location midweek (evening, c.8pm).
This year we would like your views on whether a Thursday evening or Saturday afternoon would be most suitable. Let us know by e-mail (info@cleft.ie) or by commenting on this post.
We haven’t invited speakers yet but our suggested topics are
“Growing up with a Cleft - Dental Care”
“Growing up with a Cleft - Pyschological Considerations”
Please let us know what suits you best … we would like the talk this year to reach the widest audience …
Kind regards,
Georgina Wade

Talk from Tanya Knadjian , Changing Faces
We had a very successful Information Evening (Tue 26th Feb), with over 40 people in attendance, and the talk by Tanya Knadjian from Changing Faces was very well received! Tanya gave us invaluable advice on how our children born with cleft can cope with difference in their school and play environments. Tanya engaged very well with the audience, and her advice was hugely practical and enlightening. Many thanks to Tanya and Changing Faces!
